G4A: Hearts

In this app we offer two distinct Hearts variants. The first variant is standard US/international Hearts where the deal consists of 13 cards per player and the object of the game is to score as few points as possible. The Dutch variant is faster and often more interesting. Each player is dealt 8 cards instead of 13 (only the high cards are used). In the first phase each player tries to score as few points as possible. The second phase starts when the total number points of points scored by one of the players exceeds 60 points. From then on, hands are scored differently as after each hand the points scored by each player are deducted from their point total. The first player to reach zero points wins. So instead of trying to score as few points as possible, in the second phase players try to take as many points as possible, completely changing the dynamics of the game.
